About Impact Matters

My mission is to support law firms in achieving sustainable growth through practices that put people first. Through marketing and business development strategy, client listening, and impact work, I help law firms adjust to the industry transformation impacting culture, recruitment, retention, and ultimately profitability.

Meet Katie

Supporting your firm's growth journey

After 22 years inside some of the world's leading law firms, I started 2024 with a goal to do something different. Driven by a passion to support law firms in driving profit through purpose, I launched Impact Matters. I provide a full range of marketing and business development advisory services, rooted in a belief that it's always smart business to put people first.

 

During my time as a legal marketing leader inside Big Law, I built and ran award-winning client listening programs, led major rebrands, ran national BD functions and played leadership roles through two global mergers. From strategy and business planning, to communications, proposals, legal directories, and branding - I've done it all. 

Over the last decade, I've built deep expertise in account management as a Director of Client Services and Associate Director of Diversity & Inclusion Client Programs. Through my client-facing work, I experienced first-hand what it means to truly add value: it's a unique formula for every client, focused on resolving their biggest pain points. It requires great relationship building skills, diligence, creativity, thoughtfulness and care. Impact Matters is all about value creation. Through focusing on what is most material, firms can generate incredible social impact that benefits partners, talent, clients, and communities. It goes beyond traditional BD, informed by stakeholder engagement; equity, diversity and inclusion; and risk management approaches. 

 

With my unique experience, I'm now supporting law firms as a fractional business development leader and consultant.
